DANCER & DRUM INFORMATION
PARKING
When entering Jaycee Park Dr., Please stay left of median in the parking lot. Directional Signs will be posted. Pay admission/dancer registration and then drive into the park to the arena grounds. Signs will be posted for Drum/Dancer Parking as well as Drum/Dancer tent set up.

All drum groups must provide a list of all members. Minimum 7 singers to a drum.
Upon registration all dancers/drum members will be provided a wristband you must wear for the entirety of the Pow Wow. Replacement wristbands will need to be purchased
COMPETITION POINTS
Grand Entry points will be taken Friday Evening. Dance and Drum Competition begins on Saturday.
DRUM/DANCER SEATING AND TENTS
There will be designated areas for drum/dancer seating and tent set up.

Please note this Pow Wow is an event that is open to all spectators. Individuals in attendance that are not affiliated with GNAA may take photos at the event such as photographers and news media. We asked that they be respectful of our dancers.

GUIDELINES FOR DANCERS
Be on time: Dancer Registration will begin once the gates open and last until 15 minutes before grand entry.
All Dancers must participate in all grand entries.
All Dancers' must be worn and visable for competition.
Dancers may NOT blow Eagle Whistle during competition songs.
Appropriate dress and behavior are required in dance arenas as deemed by the GNAA Pow Wow Committee.
If any items of regalia(e.g. feathers, leggings, scarf, hair ties, etc.) fall off during the dance competition, that the dancer shall disqualify him/herself from that round of competition.
Each dancer must be registered in one category and must be in their proper age category. If a dancer is found to be in the wrong category, he/she will be disqualified.
In the event of a dance off all dancers will be given two (2) chances to appear in the dance arena.
Points will be accumulated through participation in Grand Entries, Exhibitions and contests.
All Specials, Giveaways, and Raffles must be coordinated with the GNAA Pow Wow Committee.
While Dancing at our Pow Wow, please honor the protocol of the GNAA Pow Wow Committee.
Always listen to the Master of Ceremonies.
Stand up during the Grand Entry.
Respect the position of the Head Male and Female dancers.
Show respect for flags and honor songs by standing in place until the sponsors of the songs have danced a complete circle.
Some songs require that you dance only if you are familiar with the routine or are eligible to participate.
Only Veterans are permitted to dance some Veteran’s songs, unless otherwise stated. Listen to the Master of Ceremonies for instructions.
Please stand and remove hats/caps during the flag song. It is not a song for dancing.
Certain items of religious significance should be worn only by those qualified to do so.
The Drums are sometimes closed. Check with the Head Singer for permission to sing.
If you are uncertain of etiquette or procedure, please check with the Master of Ceremonies, the Arena Director or the Head Dancers.
Our Pow Wow ground should be considered a sacred space:
Do not bring alcohol, drugs, or firearms to our Pow Wow. Violators will be asked to leave the grounds. Immediately.
Do not ever cross the arena grounds.
Absolutely no smoking is allowed in or around the dance arena.
All final decisions will be made by the GNAA Pow Wow Committee.
By completing registration, you give your consent to GNAA to use any and all photos that may contain you or your regalia for advertisement purposes.
GUIDELINES FOR DRUMS
Drummers MUST register as a group. There will be no sit-ins by other drummers for contest song.
ALL drums must respect the drum area. Keep it clean. A trash bag will be given to you per grand entry.
ALL drums must have a minimum of 7 singers. All singers must be registered to one drum.
5 Singers at drum AT ALL TIMES.
NO drum hopping.
BE RESPECTFUL AND MINDFUL OF YOUR DRUM AND OTHER SINGING GROUPS, INCLUDING THE WHISTLE CARRIERS.
NO alcohol consumed or any form of drugs allowed. Singers caught under the influence, will be removed from the Pow Wow.
Enjoy yourselves, sing your best and again, be respectful.
Any complaints from a drum and/or singer will be resolved by the Head Judge.
